I had the same issue - (same car but convertible) total death on the road. Changed fuel pump as it was known faulty but the error was a faulty crank shaft position sensor (down at the pulley). The actual sensor can still be bought - the casing not.

The Bentley has actually a fairly good failure search procedure your mechanic should follow.

Few months later I had a total failure again. This time it was the LH control box.

Aaaand then a faulty oxygen sensor. Now she drives like new.

So I feel your pain - hang in there!
