Have you removed the center console and inspected the wires to the ignition switch?

The thing that has tickled my brain since you posted the original message is the part about the exhaust cracking under the car. Where did it crack? The wiring loom to the ignition switch is inside the car but runs down the center, over the exhaust pipe. I’ve seen cars that have a rotted out cataltic converter heat shield have problems like you describe because the loom is damaged from the heat.
