Yes. The few occasions I did this I had the whole drive shaft on the bench and start from the inner end.

Remove the snap ring at the end of the drive shaft.
Pull the tripod bearing using the gear puller.
Remove the inner boot.
Remove CV joint boot.
Clean the CV joint and repack grease.
Slip on the new CV joint boot..and so on and so forth.
