I'll have to check that as well. But since the evaporator is so easy to get to, I figure checking the temperature there will bypass any issues there may be with the various flaps and ducts in the system. Once the evaporator is getting cold if that air is not reaching the cabin it becomes a different issue to troubleshoot.
I'm positioning my thermometer so the probe has physical contact with the evaporator, which should yield a decent reading. I can also borrow a non-contact type thermometer to read the temperature if I can manage to aim it at the evaporator through the cabin filter slot. (However I think even just feeling the evaporator with my hand I can tell if it's getting reasonably cold, and it's not.)
I'll play around a bit more with the charge level today, but I may give the tech line a call on Monday if I can't get anywhere with this...
