I had my indy do both seals on my 97 CSE a couple months ago. The o-ring failed and the car lost a lot of oil fast. It covered the bottom of the car and the right front suspension. My wife was driving the car on long trips and I caught it just before she headed out on another one. She wouldn't have made it 50 miles the way the thing was leaking and that would've done that one in. I would recommend doing both the seal and the o-ring. The crank seal was on sale so I bought (2) just in case the first got damaged. Cheap insurance.
