Well, I'd love to tell you different, but I'm now looking at the '06 93ss Aero because there is no way I'm getting two car seats in my '99 93 'vert. I'm sure I could do it, but if you're travelling more than, say 5 minutes, and you're of average to above average height you'll be mighty uncomfortable.
I have a graco infant car seat behind the passenger side seat and the times I'm sitting shotgun are not pleasant for my legs. Rear facing seats take up a lot of real estate. Do as someone said and bring both car seats and see how you like it at the dealer.
Also, and this is just my opinion, but I've rarely had the top down with the kid (3 months) back there. And when I have done it it's been on some backroads doing 30 mph with no traffic for all of 5 minutes. The wind and sun back there at higher speeds beat the heck out of backseat passengers, nevermind infants.
