This forum is by far the best. I have used the Audi World forum on occasion because my wife insists on driving Audis. I usually look at their archives for what I need rather than posting. Those folks are from another planet, tend to rely on dealers more than we do, and seem to have endless cash to spend on idiotic, overpriced stuff. Not much of a knowlege base.
Since we had an 01 TT 225hp quattro vert, and a number of problems with it, perhaps I can help you. She has a 05 A4 Cabriolet now, which is more practical for her needs, and a damn good car at that. I dont think I would ever wrench on Audis, the Saabs we drive are a hell of a lot easier to work on DIY.
We have learned though 4 Audis and 6 Saabs that a Saab can go 150k or so without breaking the bank, the Audis can cost you a fortune if kept beyond 50-60k. Lots and lots of electrical problems with these cars at high mileage.
