If you can get it to squeal again, you may try using a garden hose length or similar scrap hose as a poor man's mechanic stethoscope before throwing parts at the issue, but Be Careful. Pulleys are spinning here!
I also saw the post on AW, and was suggesting the above if you don't have a mechanics stethoscope. Just like you would on your Saab, check each pulley and listen for excessive sound and watch for any play with the engine running. Then, slacken the belt and check each of the pulleys for smooth noiseless motion. If the bearings in any spin on too freely or have play, then that is trouble. HTH.
Saabnet is truly top-shelf. This is the most helpful and knowledgeable environment of enthusiasts I've seen out there.
