TG and I disagree on whether or not premium gives you better fuel mileage in a Saab. I personally seem to get about 1 1/2 m.p.g. better on premium in my 96 900SE and the car has more power. TG says lower ocatane = lower boost = lower fuel consumption. I say higher octane promotes more optimized combustion and better economy. TG would be correct in a normally aspirated car. I say the Trionic engine management optimizes the combustion process with higher octanes, particularly at part throttle which has the effect of better fuel economy.
So I'm putting it out to you folks.
