Around here people often signal well *after* they've already moved into the lane, sort of like telling the people behind them: "By the way, I just cut you off in a dangerous way so I thought I'd tell you".
Vancouver drivers are some of the worst in Canada. Not necessarily rude, just incredibly stupid and aggressive. This not helped by the fact that there's a disproportionately high number of luxury cars and SUVs, many driven by folks you wonder how they ever got their drivers license.
