Hi people,
This is a message I’ve wanted to write for a while but until now I couldn’t think of the ending.
I've become really disenchanted with the current job market and my job. After graduating in May of 2002 I have been working for huge private Financial Company, through a Temp agency. The agency is actually owned by the company, but this way, they don’t have to pay me benefits. My perticual job is really boring and mind numbing, which would be OK, if it also did not effect me psychologically.
Even though I have been applying for other jobs the whole time I have worked after college, I have not been successful in finding anything better, or any thing else, at all.
I think, at this point the best thing for me is to go back school while I am still young (24) and without children (0). When I think of the best times of my life I always think of learning and being at UMASS. Being there meant being in an environment of learning, curiosity and acceptance. I have not felt any of those things at my work place.
I’ve already received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, but during my job searching I have discovered that most of the things that I am interested in doing for a job require a Math Degree, and I really wish that I took more Math. So, I think I want to get a Post-Baccalaureate degree.
Has anyone else here taken a similar route?
Roman
