If you can swing it this is an excellent way to help finance a break from a real job so that you can concentrate on getting your degree and getting back to work. I did this when getting my MS in computer science at U of Georgia and it paid a subsistence living and essentially eliminated any tuition costs other than "activity fees".
I am currently employed but the IT job industry has been hard hit by the artificial inflation of necessary employees during the dot-com boom. When things were hopping in the late 90's a master's degree was not that important. Should I lose my job it will be an asset as it certainly gives you an edge when your resume is one of likely hundreds.
Good luck, and you are right about doing it now before you get older.
