Board advice needed !! Bad tire shop experience ++

I'm seeking your advice following a pretty bad experience I had at a tire shop today. I bought 4 summer tires from them which were to be mounted on my aluminum wheels (all fitted in the trunk area :-) thinking I'd be proactive and get them ready for the spring :-)
I mentioned to the tire shop to
1. take the old summer tires off the aluminum rims and discard them.
2. Mount the new tires, balance them, and put them back in the car.
Being me, I peeked through the counter and found my car up on the lift.
Immediately, I ran into the shop to find out my 15" steelies were on the floor and one of them had the snow tire off. I couldn't believe how stupid this guy was. First my summer tires I ordered through them were 16" and my steelies were 15". Second, we had a huge snow storm since last night and more than 20 cm of snow were on the roads, traffic was miserable and the idea that this dude would send someone off with an all performance summer tire does trouble me. No thanks, leave the michelin on I said. It took him after that about 2 hours to mount the tires on allows.
Here's the actual bad news >>>
Got home and found one of my mags'lip scuffed like it's been through a grinder and lost a hub cap on my steelies (8 km drive) and a second was due to fall off anytime. Got them all adjusted afterwards.
So here I go, I called the tire shop and spoke to the counter guy (pretty short answer-type of guy-suspicious from the start) very politely telling him exactly what happened. His answer was pretty short saying he walked around the car after the service was done and all hub caps were there and he mentioned It could be because I hit a curb, blah blah blah ... He also mentioned that the rim scuffs can not be caused by his business because they use a plastic arm, etc, blah blah blah. Feeling pretty dumb/screwed/helpless, I decided to end the phone conversation there without a battle but this thing has been on my mind all day. Crap !!!
What kind of action do you guys think I need to take or should I just bite the bullet and let go of it.
