Direct Tire in Norwood, MA - routinely gets "Best" rating in local rags. Twice they put tires on my wife's car and tightened the lug nuts so tight that I physically could not remove them. I took it back and they had the biggest monkey in the place use an enormous cheater bar to get the lugs off. I told the manager his air tool was obviously not set to the right tightening torque. He assured me it was, and that maybe temperature differences from when they were mounted to now caused the problem. I felt luck the rotor wasn't damaged.
I never went back. Now I just go to the cheapest place and watch them as others have described.
