I always believe in letting a business know they have lost business. Put the ball in their court and see if they will step up and do the right thing.... which they should ask..."What can we do to make this right for you." I know I'm dreaming here... but don't expect your situation to ever get better unless you talk to someone who has the power to make the situation better for you. I doubt your scenerio will ever get voiced to the manager.
Show the tire they scratched to the manager.. and call to make sure he will be there.

P.S. - I ALWAYS take my center caps off before going to a tire store... I saw an employee slide one across the shop floor with his foot. AArrggghh!!
