I work at Boeing on the space shuttle and very few of my coworkers have aero degrees or have taken aero specific classes. Surprisingly aero classes don't make much of a difference to companies in the aero industry for college new hires. Most of the work is learn-as-you-go and they know you can modify the basics of fluid mechanics, dynamics, thermo, etc. to fit the aero world. Just make sure you take the opportunity to do all of your class projects and senior design project with emphasis on aero and you'll be fine.
That's funny about RPI, we just hired an ME from there. I understand your frustration but take your undergrad degree with a grain of salt because once you get a job nobody cares where you went to school or what your degree is, only job performance, so make sure you have fun.
