Hey all, havent posted in a while since ive been at college. So about a year ago i was deciding between colleges. I wanted to go into Engineering, preferably aerospace and had narrowed down the schools i made it into down to UMASS-Amherst and RPI. U-Mass diidnt offer aero which was a huge factor. UMass gave me alot of aid since im from in state, and although rpi gave me a pretty good package its still a private school (one of the most expensive in the country) To make a long story short i ended up at RPI.. Ive been getting my butt kicked and busting my ass for the past year while paying exhorbitant amounts of money for it. Yesterday i sent out a transfer app to umass just to have an open option even though i decided i woudl stick it out here to get my aero degree. Today in my Aero fundamentals class i find out that RPI basically wants to cut the program, or at least funding for it altogehter. (Aero as a major) They have this whole "rensselaer plan" here and are trying to go IVY league in the next 10 years and are POURING money into humanities and also the biotech center. Nothing is set in stone, but this is Fu*king disheartening as all hell and its the last two weeks of the semester (i.e. the shittiest two weeks) We won't know anything for sure until next semster and now it is too late to apply mostly anywhere for transfer and even so most competeive schools what a GPA of at least 3.0 which i just barely am missing. What the heck do i do? I wnat my degree from here in AERO but is it worth it to find out in a year after another 40 grand that my program is either going to be very shitty or not even around becuase the school wants to pour money into other areas.
Thanks for reading this far, i know it was terrible writing but we dont take writing courses here. ahha
