TWX vs AOL Posted by Scott Paterson [Email] (#13) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scott Paterson) on Thu, 8 Jul 2004 08:13:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Had an annoying call with my stock broker this morning about TWX. I do not like AOL and I don't think it has a very bright outlook. He think AOL owns some kind of broadband pipe - he's confusing Time Warner's Road Runner service which has nothig to do with it. Am I way off here? I can see owning TWX in hopes that they'd dump the AOL anchor around their leg and swim for the surface, but I don't see anything worthwile about AOL's future. My parents just realized that they don't have to subscribe to AOL's broadband package to keep their cable modem and started using Eudora POP3 mail and Internet Explorer. As more consumers get a little smarter, they're going to drop the AOL surcharge in droves... Am I reading this wrong? AOL doesn't own any pipes - aren't they a lot like (at) Home?
Argh!
