No, you are quite right Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sat, 22 Jan 2005 15:31:04 In Reply to: Are fog lights useless, or is it me?......, Mike Lynch [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 22 Jan 2005 12:58:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The modern cars with more of secured fog light design stand a little bit higher chance to help you when needed but not much.
It is super crucial that the aim of fog light is straight and right under the fog belt. If they point down or up it is of no use.
The biggest rip off was the older C900 with dealer installed fog lights under bumper. Those are always broken or pointing straight down if and when you would need them.
Many customer paid over and over again to have them replaced just to finally give up and have them removed.
I used to have fog lights on the cars in Sweden and trying to dial them in perfectly whenever it was foggy (quite often), and still it was never good the next time around.
The rear ones though are really good as long as you remember to turn them off when the fog is gone. That's easy nowadays since it is relay served and turns off automatically when the car is turned off.
