Feel free to add to this list... My experience is US-based only for what's below.

1. The left lane is for passing (my sister at age 26 called my dad to ask why he never told her this).
2. In the US, at least, you CAN pass on the right on a multi-lane highway, especially if some slow poke is driving in the left lane. Just do it with care.
3. APPROXIMATE A CONSTANT SPEED. You can get a car to maintain a constant speed by pushing on the gas pedal just the right amount... It's not push down and speed up, let off and coast kind of driving - that makes your passengers ill. (Still teaching my wife this one)
4. Learn how a four way stop sign works. Once you stop, it's not automatically your turn to go. It depends on who was at the intersection first - they go first. If two cars arrive at the same time, the car on the right has the right of way.
5. Turn the radio down or off before shutting the car off so the next driver's ear drums aren't shattered upon car start (still teaching my wife this one).
