I know the feeling.
I'm 34 and I'm also cursed with having interests and abilities in many areas. It makes it hard to decide what to do. I have a mechanical engineering degree, (almost majored in industrial design), did automotive engineering for a while, switched to marketing (product planning), I'm finishing my evening MBA in April, and work in marketing at a job that isn't bad, but I seek more satisfaction from my work life. I've thought of writing a book, starting a consulting business, working for a non-profit, going into consulting for somebody else, working in advertising, starting an environmental products company, starting a product design company, starting a website ...
All I can say is try to get your foot in the door to a place that does what you ultimately want to do. Pay your dues with a job you may not completely like, (for a year or two, until you see if you can get into job responsibilities that you like.) If you don't see it ever happening, then leave. Have you thought about working for a non-profit community development organization, museums, or for local governments?
Good luck,
Atul
