I feel really dumb for having this taken that way.

I know it sounds ambitious, almost precocious, to have proclivities so well developed with only a bachelors degree. Have no fears more education is in the future somewhere. I suppose I should give a bit more background to my situation.

I spent this summer traveling around, visiting long lost friends and reconnecting with the world all the while deciding if I should go back to school this fall. I also spent a lot of time networking with people in various fields in all parts of the country. I came to a couple interconnected realizations. 1:University life exists in a vacuum, there is a whole world out there that I forgot about. 2: Many people resent graduate education, they know that what you learn in a class room has little relevance in the real world and also understand that you don’t realize it.

I have given urban planning much thought and still am. I have also thought about moving to a “hurricane ravaged area”, and still am, but don’t want to be a carpet bagger. One thought I have had is that I can still volunteer my time, like I have been, to historic preservation groups, community development organizations and the like.

So I want to spend some time in the real world, gaining experience, networking and establishing a life independent of mom and pop. I know that no new experience is a wasted experience, but still wonder if this divergent path from my own interests will be beneficial or detrimental?!.

What do you all know about IP law? Do you think two or three years would set me back a ways from my wants, goals, desires or what ever you want to call it?
