It's a tough call. Of course very few of us can justify the cost of the Turbo X off the block - but come on, I bought a Viggen for under $13k, and that was a $40k car as well. As far as this car not being very special, well..I think you need to look again. You're right, Saab isn't the same since GM took over. I'd love to see Saab be an independent company. But what this car represents is GM allowing the engineers to release a fun, unique, and compelling car again! They even put (and are marketing the hell out of) the old Turbo/APC boost gauge on the dash. It may not be a hatchback like we'd all love to see, but Saab is being very brave in offering it in sport-combi form. 280hp is the most ever in a production saab - sure, it could be more, but its smart, usable power that will still yield good mileage. Try and break 20mpg in an STi, under normal cycle. Try and drive one and not see at least 3 others per week. The brake upgrades and the styling touches show that this wasnt some afterthought thrown together for the launch of the new front end styling - it's a legitimate call for attention, that Saab isn't dead, and that they're still great at making unique, fun to drive cars. I'd love to get my hands on one of these beaut's a few years down the line!

Cheers!
