It seems that the use of lights on the front of vehicles continues to grow out of control. It's as though many drivers treat their lights as toys & novelty items rather than safety devices.
For example, why do so many drivers use their parking lights instead of their headlights during daytime hours? If a person is trying to make their presence known on the road, they could do a much better job by simply using their headlights. It's a half-hearted attempt.
Also, why do many drivers use their foglights in conjunction with their headlights these days? Unless you're going really slow, I can't see how fogs increase the safety factor. To me, the only significant result is throwing more - yet unnecessary - light in oncoming driver's faces.
Do states have laws addressing these habits? If not, I think the time has come to confront them. Any insight into this aspect of human behavior is appreciated!
I could go on & on with many other observations & thoughts, but I'll stop here for now.
