An alternator repair is a very *rare bird* repair in SAAB cars....it can happen, but it is very rare.
the idler pulley and serpentine belt are "normal maintenance" items, and nay need replacement due to age (certainly not due to excessive mileage)
A fuel pump can be noisy, yet can last over 100,000 miles....
Worn out shocks/struts? On my 2001 9-5 they BOTH went over 90,000 miles....and the shimmy can be as easy as utilizing a good tire shop--- rotating the existing tire on the rim 90 degrees and re balancing it....and/or in that process discovering you have a bent rim.
