I mixed up residents and medical students. I meant to talk about residents.

I have some idea of what doctors make, probably around $100,000 at the low end. And I understand that they face malpractice insurance fees and large student loans, but I had $22,000 of student loans coming out of a private engineering school and I didn't even make $40K to start. I managed fine in paying it off. Many doctors I know complain, but how many of them who are working can't make ends meet? I read about many of them flocking to specialization to make more money instead of general care. The people I really feel sorry for are the ones who have tens of thousands of dollars in student loans and no job or very low-paying jobs. It seems like there are many general care positions available for new doctors.
