is it really hard acceleration, as in nail-the-loud-pedal to the floor? Sure, if you do boy-racer stop light racing you might do this, or if you just drive aggressively, but most 0-40 is more likely to be flow of traffic stuff. And who really cares who is slightly faster?
But if you're passing someone at 50 mph and have to get around them fast, like on a two-lane road with a short passing zone, you go pedal to the metal. I drive on a lot of rural roads and that's where I want the giddy-up to really work.
I agree that at metered freeway on ramps (or the Merritt Parkway!) a quick 0-60 is nice, but in most instances it's just that... nice but not critical. That said, though, I'd still rather be in my 9000 with a full pressure turbo than my wife's 9-5 Linear wagon or my daughter LPT 9000.
