Fair enough. I'm not a SUV fan either -- I prefer wagons (I know, terminally unhip, etc.) and there were loads of those in Europe. As for SUVs, I saw two Hummers in Munich. Go figure.
Anyway, vehicle size is also determined by family size and since families in Europe are typically smaller than those in the US / Canada they can get by with smaller vehicles. With 3-4 kids in many families here, you need a much larger vehicle. One family of five I know in Sweden uses a 9-5 wagon to get around.
I would also like to see more clean diesel here and better wagons / small vans. The Ford Mondeo Estate wagons and Ford S-Max vans I saw in Germany looked very nice but we'll never see them here. They even have a hatchback version of the Mondeo. If Ford would bring that stuff to the US I'd be all over it, especially with their turbo diesel.
