Thanks for the info on the amount of additive. It makes sense, too, that it's not energy-less, but contains less than the principle fuel.
Any engine which is designed to run on both e85 and traditional gasoline is hampered by the lower LHV of e85, but engines designed for e85 use can take advantage of the higher resistance to knock by either increasing the compression ratio, or, in the case of Saab's biopower systems, increase charge pressure.
