I once was stuck working in an Acura dealership for four months in between SAAB dealers. Part of the pre delivery inspection for the NSX was a factory mandated fifty mile road test by someone qualified to work on the NSX. As for the SAAB PDI, the factory wants a ten mile road test. I just run them around the block, about two miles. I always get the boost as high as it will go without going full throttle because I've had intercooler hoses pop off. I check to make sure the steering wheel is centered and a few other things.
