I've been looking at a Toshiba Satellite U505-S2005. It's not as solidly built, but weighs under 5lb. The processor is the newer i-3, with 3MB cache. It also has relative fast DDR3 RAM running at 1066MHz (some hight end models use 1333MHz RAMs). Any opinion and/or suggestions on this model?
I'd avoid 7200RPM disks for laptops, as it'll drain the battery much faster than a 5400RPM disk. Some Lenovo models have turbo-boot option, where a small solid-state/flash drive is used to quickly boot up the OS.
