Who knows, it's all very possible...that's why I always want to drive a manual.
Come to think of it, with all of this new technology and the "start button" could not all of these things contribute to a disaster in the event of an emergency? Would you really not rather have an old-fashioned key which, I presume would work just fine in this situation? I've never tried to turn the car off while it is moving but surely it would work fine. I know the steering wheel could lock, which is a problem. But still, the button is electronic and could potentially be shut off in the software.
