I'm curious... when you redid your system did you have to replace the ductwork?

I'm in MA and have oil heat w/central air, and I've considered switching to a geo heatpump. But my understanding is they generally require larger ducts as the air they produce during heating is cooler and thus you need more flow. Replacing all the ducts in our house would be a nightmare.

Also is oil really expensive where you are? I ran the numbers a while back re replacing our system and the payback period was way more than 3 years... possibly longer than the expected life of the equipment.
