Well, they can confiscate every penny earned on incomes of more than $350K -- that top 1% of households -- but it still doesn't even come close to paying for this year's spending.

They will eventually come to get the money from the middle class because that's where the money is. That and a value added tax.

As for deficits, I remember Clinton being dragged kicking and screaming to the idea of a balanced budget by the Republicans starting after the House changed hands after the election of 1994.

That George W and the Republican Congress then overspent dramatically starting in 2001 is bad enough. What's worse is that we know no matter how much they blew it wasn't enough for those on the other side as was amply demonstrated after Pelosi and Reid took Congress in 2006, and then with Pres Obama.

Either way, it's too late for the blame game. This needs fixing now.
