Ed - I am all for getting rid of corporate welfare and loopholes. Make it simple and lower the corporate tax so that we are competitive with at least the developed markets in Canada and Europe - right now the US is not.

However, the debate in question was around personal income tax, not corporate. And that is where the SMEs are linked directly to their owners taxes. Think about all of the businesses that are in the area you live in - most are not big corporates, but the people who are trying run a business, hire people, make payroll, and pay taxes.
