While with Swedish government and EIB, it was begging . . . having three Chinese carmakers competing against each other is hardly begging. If you have problem with borrowing money from the Chinese, have you renounced your US citizenship yet? After all, aren't they the largest non-FED holder of US government debt?

Presumably, both the Russians and the Chinese understand that giving Saab room to be itself is of critical importance to the long term viability of the company. I rather like the 4-3-3 tripartite divide now having the Russians and Chinese balancing each other out at close to 30% each. It actually makes for a more interesting game than putting all eggs in one basket, like when GM controlled 100% of Saab.
