You will soon find WV/Audi have the same sludge problems with their 1.8T and 2.0T engines.
Hunt down a well maintained 9-5 with service records by a Saab dealer or independent shop. Have them drop, inspect, clean and modify oil pickup. Toss a new oil pump and pump cover on the car. Stick to 5k interval with a full synthetic oil, zero sludge issues.
Most other "common" issues with the 9-5 have pretty good work arounds and DIY repair info now that the model line is 10+ years old.
If you go to a hospital, you will find a lot of sick people.
