I think we agree... Posted by PGAero [Email] (#1143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PGAero) on Thu, 15 Sep 2011 07:18:43 In Reply to: Re: And a suspension package..., James, Thu, 15 Sep 2011 06:15:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I always say that the thing I like least about the BMWs I've owned is the fact that people think I bought them for $40K and I'm a snob for having it. (I wouldn't touch an e36 318 with an autobox with a ten-foot pole, so I guess I am a snob... but not in the way people think). I got over that when I realized that I've fallen into their trap if I care one iota what they think of MY car choice. I didn't buy it for them, I bough tit for me.
I recently purchased my '89 325iX - $2500 just last spring. After I put new suspension bushings, springs, shocks and tires on it, it's a whole new car, and worth at least twice what I paid for it...
A (3-6 year old) 9-5 Aero Wagon will replace the 9000 Aero we recently sold once my wife and I are back stateside on a more permanent basis.
Cheers,
~Peter
One more thing... the article linked somewhere in here is from 2008ish, so the '99 M3 was only 10, and it might have been closer to Accord money three years ago. Ezra Dyer's article which started this discussion is apparently from the most recent edition of Automobile... I'd like to read it sometime.
