I don't think a saabnet member contacting another poster in need of a turbo to warn them of the crappy Chinese knock-off turbos on the market is a disservice. I don't sell turbos and I've done the same thing. Many people are unaware, so help a brother out. Not sure I agree that it was wrong for Chad to offer his rebuild service either. He's got a fine reputation as a rebuilder and upgrader of turbos in the Saab community. A proper rebuild of a known Garrett or Mitsu turbo is preferred in my opinion, since there are so many aftermarket pieces of crap being sold out there as genuine. There is a reason that many sellers CHRAs are inexpensive. Does that mean that Chad's (or any rebuilder's) prices can't be beat--certainly not. That's why it's important to shop both price and reputation. I'm glad that you were able to find a genuine SAAB turbo for less money (although I don't know what that means, since Garrett and Mitsubishi are the manufacturers of turbos for the SAAB cars). Price shopping (before purchase) is generally worth it and would have saved both Chad and Anil a lot of grief.

I also don't have a problem with Chad commenting on exorbitant mark-ups from dealers, as it's been generally agreed on this forum that Chad's markup does not seem excessive to anyone but Anil and lawyer Dave.
