Varying points of view is one thing, that happens all the time on this forum and hundreds like it, over things like "what's the best spark plug for my car?" "should I attempt to recharge my own air conditioner" and "which rims should I get for my 9000?"

what you are talking about is a fundamental difference between right and wrong. You are effectively saying 1+1=4, and then calling us a cult for collectively saying that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't know about Chad, I've never met him before, but for myself, I have more patience than most people could ever hope to have, and even I know, if I were in Chad's position I would have told you the same thing, "you own it." The reason is because you didn't call back and say you wanted to return it, you didn't say you sourced the part elsewhere and you could get your hands on it faster, you called him and asked for a partial refund, after the fact, because you happened to see the part cheaper elsewhere. Tough shit.

It doesn help that you and your buddy Dave the lawyer have been class A douchebags through the whole process. Had you been even half way reasonable, a few people might have stood up and said "Chad, let him return the part.". And some people even did at first, but now nobody cares and would rather see you rot with that part out of spite.

Your car sat for 10 days before you finally were able to source the part from Chad. You act like it was his responsibility to say, "Hey, before I sell you this part, let me call the dealer nearest you and make sure they don't already have one."

This isn't VIP auto center. You can't walk into one branch, ask for brake pads, and they say, "oh we don't have them, but the computer here says the VIP in the next town over has 2. I'll call and have them reserve them for you.". It doesn't work that way.

He wasn't relieved to unload a part, he was relieved to help out a fellow Saaber who's car had been out of commission for almost 2 weeks.

Stockholm Syndrome? Jesus dude, do yourself a favor, get your car back on the road, and then sell it. Buy a Ford F150, you'll never have problems finding parts for one of those.
