The turbo oin the Fusion is only in their top of the line model and it's pricey.

I'll assume, then, that those who opt for the turbo actually know what it takes to maintain it. That's probably a faulty assumption, of course...

Owners who change their oil when the car tells them to will be disappointed in the long-term longevity of the turbo. Hopefully, the owner's manual tells how to properly maintain the turbo.

The bad thing is that Ford is marketing the turbo as a way to get improved mileage, not better power, so I suspect owner's will be disappointed in the gas mileage because, as with SAABs, your mileage will vary right along with the way you drive.
