In some cases makers are downplaying their car even has a turbo engine - they are becoming that smooth and mainstream . At cruising speeds a 4 cylinder , turbo or not will generally have a fuel efficiency advantage - as long as it's matched properly to the vehicle in terms of weight and gearing.
Reliability continues to improve for turbo charged vehicles - they run cooler and are designed to last a good while if maintenance is performed.
