Maybe he's had a failed turbo in a Saab or two. The point I was trying to make in my posts that today's turbos are much better designed, are more reliable and in many cases don't even require much if any special maintenance . Many are now twin scroll - little lag and capable of high boost. And I think most if not all are water cooled.
