I bought the Miele UniQ about a year ago after going through a couple of Kenmore canister vacuums in the last 15 years.
So far so good.
The pros are very quite running with strong suction and easier to pull it with you around corners due to all casters swivels and the hardwood floor nozzle with it genius multi swivel tube makes it easy around table/chairs and under book shelf's.
Cons are cumbersome on/off switch system with a main switch on canister and too many doodad switch options on the handle that are hard to see and some stupid LED lights alongside the canister that stay lit after you unplug the cord (so that you can safely back it into the closet, I suppose) and the hassle to switch between carpet motor head and hardwood floor nozzle.
Hopefully it will last many years because cheap, it aint.
