yeah, the pic is of an Amante. It was styled to look like a Jag or Bentley, and sold at about $20k or thereabouts. The veneer was ridiculously thin on those cars. They were careful to diminish the prominence of any Kia badging, but the veneer was sooo thin, it was painfully obvious that it was not a high end car... I'm pretty sure Kia would be happy enough to just have that one die and go away from people's memory. The early Hyundais were pretty cheap, that's for sure`- a neighbour had a pony I think it was, that blew it's engine 1 day after the warranty (which was about 1 year old iirc). They sure have improved drastically since then! At the same time, the Japanese have mostly flat lined and can't compete on price... it is not unlike the home entertainment industry, where Sony just can't compete with brands like Samsung anymore...
