After pressing power, to power on the p.c. Immediately start pressing the F10 key on the key board about 5 times or until the the screen shows,

Boot in safe mode
With networking
With command prompt

Last known good configuration

Start normally

Key down and select , last known good config and hit enter.

Simply dimply.

Sound like you got hit with the allure virus. It's a very elegant written virus and it infects many areas of the p.c. To simplify what it dose when a person sits down and tells their p.c to run any program there is a dog named fido that takes the info of the program you want running and goes fetches it. The virus allure will kill Fido and replace the dog with a lizard named Spud and Spud dose what ever he wants when you want a program running. Virus blocking programs are becoming so good they are able to detect Spud in the p.c. And delete him now with the murdering of Fido and the deletion of Spud no ones there to take your info and leaves your p.c. A shell.

This is just one area that's affected by allure there are 4 more places just as sensitive as Fido. Anyone playing seek and destroy on the allure virus is in for a good game.
