The dell Xp cd isnt a Genuine Xp cd, its only a imprint of your current operating sys. much like a copy I made of the genuine cd except missing the hall file) which if you were to boot it from your p.c. when it was dead it would lock up in the midst of a fresh install, give you a blue screen and say (missing hall.dll) and that would be that.
Doing a fresh install with the dell recovery disks will wipe out your windows file leaving your p.c. dorment. if there is any problem in reload your done. because it doesn't back anything up before the new copy. the Dell recovery disk is useful as a boot tool if say you use a real genuine xp cd and say 'said file' is corrupt one can get it from the dell boot cd. As long as its not hall.dll
Hall.dll is missing on purpose for the average person trying to boot up a system from the cd. If the dell p.c. was running and you told the p.c. to do a complete memory wipe the p.c. would ask you to insert the dell xp cd in the cd tray. and it would refresh the p.c. to when it was shipped to the store before you bought it. Its a very genaric xp cd. how do I know.. I have one
How ever if you're wise to what's missing in the dell xp cd one can open the cd copy and past the missing hall.dll file and create a xp cd that will boot up a p.c. without a key code. but to do this one need to boot the dead p.c. from the genuine xp cd, and switch the genuine xp cd with the modified dell cd in midst of it loading the boot up files without getting an error message and it will pull all the info off the dell modified cd and create you a frankenstein p.c. that was never meant to be running. hahahahahahash
ok i been drinking and perhaps it was illegal to say that but more than likely it was Way over people's heads,. But its true. so the Dell xp cd is awesome,.. when modified otherwise is a fram filter.
