...so why not get a reliable one? That's what I have been thinking anyway. Nothing will match the character of my SAAB or how it stood out on the road.
Even VWs, Audis, Volvos, etc are appliances. Character vs Appliance is now a much more subtle distinction as in years past. Anything under $40k these days seems to be an appliance. Some appliances are sporty, but they still seem like appliances. That is just the side effect of automotive engineering having advanced so far as so eliminate all of faults that used to be known as character. And as far as styling, character these days I guess is a car design that is purposely different for no sake other than being different. With SAABs, they looked they way they did because form followed function. Today, it's the other way around - hence we have the trend of the 4 door coupe look with chopped windows and no rear headroom/poor visibility. I am ranting...but everything is an appliance these days, sadly.
