I'm replacing my 2000 Viggen and was considering the Accord Sport 6MT.
I agree, it has a great look... very upscale and subtley sporty. And one of a dying breed of manual trans sedans. Solid reliability and stellar mpg. Never got the chance to test drive one since the 6-spd cars are hard to find.
At the top of my recent list were VW's. I'd recommend opting for GTI vs Jetta... better interior materials etc. GTI seems to be one of those rare times when everything "just works"... wonderful balance of sporty handling, decent ride, practicality, comfort. My story took an unexpected turn.
While trolling the VW lot I got seduced by a used 2010 BMW 328i with sport package, 6-speed, heated leather sport seats and some other things. I test drove it back to back vs a VW Golf R and a VW CC. The driving character of the 328 was much better than either... road a smoothly as the CC while handling felt more agile than even the Golf R. I was blown away and bought the BMW.
Anyway, yes I think the 6-speed will kill the resale of an Accord. But if you like it and intend to keep it a while, don't worry about resale. Get what you like. Good luck!
