I was more responding to your suggestion to the other poster that $1K represents the low end of the bike market in the same way that $14K (or a Kia Rio) represents the low end of the car market and that's simply not the case. $1K is well above what average bike riders spend on a new bike while $14K is well below what average new car buyers spend on a new car.
Whether or not a $200 bike is a good "investment" is another debate.
